New Drop Policy

By vote of the faculty, the Drop period is now two weeks, not five weeks as in previous years. The drop deadline is 5 p.m. on Monday, September 7. Courses can be dropped via WebAdvisor up until that date.

After September 7, dropping a class is no longer permitted. However, students may elect to withdraw from one class per semester (four total in your time at Allegheny) up through the ninth week of classes (October 29). If you withdraw from a class, it will not be included in your GPA, but it will still appear on your transcript with a grade of “X.” Forms for student-initiated withdrawals from a course will be available in the Registrar’s Office starting on September 8.
