At 7 a.m. on Monday, April 29, WebAdvisor will be temporarily closed for course changes (you will still be able to view courses, however).

On Wednesday, May 1, WebAdvisor will re-open for Add/Drop for all students who are eligible to register. You can add any open, unrestricted course with open seats at that time. Please check for “signature” restrictions – faculty who want to give preference to students on their waiting lists will have added this restriction to their courses. To add a class that is restricted or full, you will need the instructor’s signature on an Add card to register. Add cards will be available in the Registrar’s Office on Wednesday morning. You can drop any Fall class on-line (i.e., you do not need to use a Drop card). WebAdvisor will remain open for course changes until 4 p.m. on Friday, June 28.

Please remember that preregistration is limited to 18 credits. You will be able to add additional classes when you return in the Fall. You will also be able to declare a course Credit/No Credit once the Fall semester begins.

Please contact the Registrar’s Office (registrar@allegheny.edu, 814-332-2357) if you have any questions about registering for Fall classes.

A thematic examination of the history of drawing and mark making from various cultural perspectives and traditions. We explore Old Master techniques, such as making paper, Silver Point drawing, creating inks from plant fibers, and fashioning drawing implements. Students work with traditional drawing tools, such as graphite and charcoal. We embrace avant-garde techniques, working with Transparent Base Drawing, Masked Water Soluble Drawing, Xerox Transfer, Watercolor Mono-print Drawing, and Pastel Rubbing Drawing. Students use mixed-media materials like watercolors, oil sticks, collage, and screen-printing to enhance the drawing experience. Our goal is to assist students in creating coherent bodies of work.

Preregistration for the Fall semester begins on April 8 for rising seniors. Please check your registration class and letter group, then see the posted Registration Schedule to find your time to register. Changes and updates to the Fall class schedule will be posted here on the main Registrar page. Please keep in mind that:

1. Your “registration class” may not be the same as the class you identify with – for example, you may be coming up on your third (junior) year at Allegheny but register as a senior if you are ahead on credits because of transfer courses, AP credit, etc. Please double-check your registration class in WebAdvisor to make sure you register at the earliest time possible.

2. You will need your advisor’s approval to register, so please schedule an appointment to meet with your advisor well before your scheduled registration date. If you are a double or student-designed major, both advisors must approve you to register.

3. Sophomores must declare a major and minor before registering. Please consult your advisor or the Registrar’s Office if you need help deciding on a major. Departments will also have information about their programs available on Gator Day (April 2) to help you with this process.

4. Preregistration is limited to 18 credits. You will have the opportunity to add additional classes when you return in the Fall.

If you have any questions about registering for Fall, please contact the Registrar’s Office at registrar@allegheny.edu
