Secular Student Alliance (SSA)

“The Secular Student Alliance was the first student organization at Allegheny geared towards providing support and resources for secular-minded students.  It is a great place to engage in scientific, philosophical, and religious discussions and learn about the secular worldview.”

Allegheny’s Secular Student Alliance gives a voice to theist, agnostic, non-religious, and secular students, while promoting scientific and critical thinking.  The group seeks to create a community of shared beliefs, or lack thereof, and to provide resources to secular students.

Through programs such as “Ask an Atheist,” the group hopes to raise awareness of secular issues and promote science and critical thinking.  In addition they engage in activism in secular causes in and around the Allegheny College community.
