The Rhodes Scholarship
Provides an opportunity for two post-graduate years at Oxford with all expenses paid. Highly competitive. Students must have stellar academic credentials, a record of extracurricular commitment and leadership, and a reason for wanting to study in the United Kingdom. Some demonstrated athletic ability is required.
Selection Criteria
- High literary/scholastic achievement
- Energy to use one’s talents as exemplified by fondness for/success in sports
- “Truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for and protection of the weak, kindliness,” etc.
- “Moral force of character and instincts to lead and take an interest in others”
- Clear sense of why study at Oxford is appropriate

- All education costs.
- Maintenance allowance
- Expenses for term-time and vacation
- Travel costs
- Possible additional grants for research and study

- 2 years of study at Oxford
- US citizens 18-24
- Will complete BA/BS prior to beginning Rhodes

Application Process/Deadline
Letter of intent, letter of recommendation from academic advisor, and resumé due to Glenn Holland by April 30th. A draft of the completed application is due September 15th, with a final deadline in October.
