7 – 9 a.m. Breakfast in a Dining Hall
Start off your day with breakfast before starting your individual schedule.
8 a.m. – 12 Noon Personalized Itinerary
We will build your individual itinerary based on your preferences indicated on the Registration Form.
Options include:

  • Attend a class — ALL students will attend at least one class
  • Meet with a coach
  • Enjoy the events below with parents and family members

9 a.m. Financial Aid Info Session - until 9:50 a.m.
Join members of the financial aid staff for a helpful overview of the financial aid process. If parents are interested in scheduling an individual appointment on Monday, call (800) 835-7780 (appointment times are limited).

Student Research Exhibit - until 1 p.m.
Drop by to learn more about student research opportunities at Allegheny by browsing examples of recently completed projects in a variety of disciplines.

Tours of Campus until 2 p.m., on the hour

Allegheny’s Green Tour until 10:30 a.m., on the half hour
Pursuing sustainability is an integral part of Allegheny’s mission. Take a guided hike around campus to check out the College’s key sustainability features and learn about student, staff, and community green collaborations.

10 – 10:50 a.m. Master Classes (Parents/Family Members Only)
Attend one of our unique parents-only Master Classes, taught by Allegheny faculty who are experts in their fields. Previous topics have included Shakespeare, the psychology of nationalism, climate change, storytelling, media and cultural studies, sustainable development, and the politics of consumption. Indicate when you register if you are interested in attending a master class; sign-up for a specific class will be available when you arrive on campus.
11 a.m. – 12 Noon The Residential College Experience
The student experience at a residential college like Allegheny extends beyond the classroom. Dean of Students Joe DiChristina and Director of the Learning Commons Rebecca Dickinson will share the value of Allegheny’s inclusive community as students (and family members) transition to “college life.” Questions and discussion are encouraged.

The presentation will be followed by an open house, where families can hear from:

  • Allegheny Gateway (including experts in career services, study abroad, pre-professional advising and service-learning)
  • Student Involvement
  • Residence Life
  • Spiritual & Religious Life
  • Athletics
  • Dining
  • Safety & Security
12 noon – 12:45 p.m. Student Organization Fair
Student representatives from a sampling of Allegheny’s 100+ organizations and student researchers answer your questions about their involvement and impact on campus.

Stay for lunch on campus
If you are interested in having lunch after the Fair, connect with an Admissions representative for complimentary lunch tickets for your family.

Monday afternoon Financial Aid Appointments

In order to best accommodate students’ interests, some may have individual activities that are scheduled for the afternoon. Indicate when asked on the registration form if you are available to stay.
