Where the Wind Blows/I Love Gators Who…

This game is known by a few different names, “Where the Wind Blows” exists at Allegheny as “I Love Gators Who…” Have everyone stand in a circle, and take off their shoes to mark their place (substitute items can be used, but having some people barefoot and some with shoes sometimes ends up in painful stepped-on toes). Remove one pair of shoes from the circle so there is one spot less than there are players. Choose one person to go to the center, usually the group facilitator, with everyone else standing at a place marker. The person in the center introduces themselves and must make one statement that is true about them, and probably true about others in the group. So, the person in the center might say, “My name is Alice and I love Gators who have dyed their hair before.” Anyone else around the circle who has dyed their hair must leave their spot and run to find another empty spot around the circle (not one right next to them!) while the person who made the statement also runs to find a spot. The person left out after all the spots are taken is the new person who goes to the middle of the circle. This game gets everyone’s energy up and can result in some hilarious or surprising confessions from group members, as well as helping people find points of commonality.
