Friendly Association of Multicultural Identifying LGBTQ Youth

Purpose:  The Friendly Alliance of Multicultural Identifying LGBTQ Youth will strive to succeed and grow with three purposes in mind.  The first will be to provide encouragement and support within a safe space for students of color that identify as being (but not limited to) lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, and questioning.  Secondly, not only will the organization exist as a place for multicultural peers to process their sexual orientations, but to reflect upon and process the challenges presented them by their combined and fused subordinate statuses as: (1) being persons of color in America and (2) as being (but not limited to) LGBTQ.  The third purpose will be to nurture the membership into a community or a “family” that will thrive on foundations of respect, friendliness, and awareness to promote a host of key contacts that the membership will feel comfortable enough to reach out to.
