Allegheny College Bicentennial

200 Years: 1815-2015

In 2015, our distinguished history meets our limitless future.

In 1815 the Reverend Timothy Alden and members of the Meadville community founded Allegheny College. Today, nearly 200 years later, Allegheny College — one of the nation’s oldest, most successful and distinguished private liberal arts institutions — continues to teach young men and women to confront the challenges of our shared future.

The Bicentennial Celebration of Allegheny College embraces and immerses our students, faculty, alumni, friends, parents, campus community and Meadville community by reflecting on our past, celebrating our present and projecting a clear vision of our future in higher education.
