The mission of the Access Allegheny Program is to help become as prepared as possible for a successful and rewarding journey as an Allegheny student. Much of this success is dependent on your ability to strengthen your critical thinking skills as well as your resiliency as a student. The program is designed to motivate our scholars to seek help on campus when they need it and to support one another throughout the year as they become part of the Allegheny community. Led by the program facilitators, NaviGator peer mentors, and faculty, we build relationships with campus resources and services that will help scholars learn and grow from the academic and social setbacks that inevitably occur throughout the college experience. The program includes numerous informative workshops including but not limited to sessions about study strategies for college courses, leadership and resiliency skills, financial literacy, and finding a work-study job on campus.
