About me: Loyal Kopite / Vinyl Collector / Backpacker
Pronouns: he / him / his

Chris earned a BA in Political Science from Stonehill College and  a MA in International Relations and International Communication from Boston University.

As an undergraduate student, Chris participated weekly in community service, traveled to Honduras for an alternative spring break, and completed a semester-long, study abroad program in Northeastern Brazil that focused on culture, development, and social justice. There he conducted an independent study in Prainha do Canto Verde, a small fishing village where he studied the role of the village’s annual regata in educating the greater community on predatory fishing and the importance of sustainable eco-tourism.  Intent on spending more time abroad following the completion of his undergraduate studies, Chris spent a year teaching ESL in Brazil and then a year of service in Ecuador through the Harvard Center for International Development’s WorldTeach Program. Chris continued teaching while in graduate school, and his desire to apply many of his skills gained in the classroom led to working in university admissions advising with international students. Now at Allegheny College, he’s thrilled to work with domestic students, international students, and students wanting to join Allegheny College’s Global Citizen Scholars program.

Chris is a diehard supporter of Liverpool Football Club and eagerly arises for early morning weekend fixtures. He also enjoys adding to his collection of mid ’80s to late ’90s New York and Boston Hardcore records. Over the years, he has spent time backpacking abroad, listing Brazil, Peru, Thailand, and Italy as some of his favorite places. Chris prides himself on being a minimalist and insists that he can go anywhere with just a backpack.

When he’s not pursuing these interests, he can be found attempting to get himself back into shape by hiking, running, or playing volleyball. However, these efforts are frequently negated by his culinary passion for eating shabu shabu, churrascaria, Korean BBQ, Thai food, tripe tacos, dim sum, spicy food, and assorted delicacies that make people cringe.
