“My name is Osama Eltoum and I am an international student from Sudan. Sudan is a developing country where the education system never changes. The things that were taught 10 or 20 years ago are still being taught today. Because of that, I knew that it would not be possible to achieve my goals and dreams if I got a Sudanese education. Therefore, I decided to apply to colleges in the United States.

“I applied to 14 colleges and got rejected from most of them because the colleges did not have sufficient funds to cover my needs. Others I simply could not afford. However, I was accepted into Allegheny with a very generous scholarship. Due to your generosity, I am now one step closer to achieving my dream.

“I am currently a biology major, with a minor in math. I am also doing the 3-2 year program for biomedical engineering. I chose this program because I have a very clear goal in life.
My goal is to invent/develop medical devices that will one day be used to cure disabilities. Thanks to you, I am one step closer to reaching my goal. I promise that due to your great generosity lives will be changed.

“I am working hard to achieve my dream, and I will continue to do so. I will never forget the opportunity you have provided me and for that, I am truly thankful!”

Kind Regards,
