This annual art event features about a dozen artists making art on site with the public invited to observe (and participate if the artist so desires). This year’s artists are Ashley Pixelle Andrews (Pittsburgh), Cathie Bleck (Cleveland, OH), Berry Breen and Darren Miller (Pittsburgh and Meadville), Claudia Giannini (Pittsburgh), Robert Hernandez (Brooklyn, NY), Heather Hertel (Grove City), Cara Lynn Kleid (Pittsburgh), Matt Martin (Edinboro), Bill Rodgers (Pittsburgh), Ann Tarantino (State College), Shaun Slifer and Mary Tremonte (Pittsburgh).

An exhibition that explores how the forces of cold, ice and snow shape landscapes and cultural identities in Canada and the northern tier of the United States of America. Works include a selection of influential pre-1940 landscape paintings from the collection of Tom Clark, stereoviews from the Johnson-Shaw Stereoscopic Museum, and contemporary works from emerging American artists.

Allegheny College’s 2010-2011 annual theme is “Global Citizenship,” but there is no agreement about what constitutes a “global citizen.” In this exhibition we propose that diasporic peoples, whatever the reason for leaving their homelands, are as close as one gets to finding a “global citizen.” Full Interviews HERE IMPORT THIS PAGE. The presentation of these exhibits and lectures is supported in part by Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA), the regional arts funding partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency. State government funding comes through an annual appropriation by Pennsylvania’s General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PPA is administered in this region by the Arts Council of Erie.
