Come one, come all to the 8th Annual Summer Job Fair on Monday, February 5 from 11:30 am-1: 30 pm in the Campus Center Lobby! Students of all class years and majors are invited to attend this free on-campus career fair to meet with the over 25 employers offering a variety of paid summer opportunities. A sample of employers includes ChildCare Careers located in Pittsburgh, PA, Sandy Hill Camp on the Chesapeake Bay in North East, MD, and Camp Notre Dame on the shores of Lake Erie in Fairview, PA. Students interested in working with children or in the field of education are especially encouraged to attend. What: A presentation focused on economic consulting and the Summer Analyst Internship

Are you interested in economics, finance, statistics, or marketing? Would you like to apply your research skills, perform rigorous analyses, and collaborate with leading professors and industry experts on complex, high-stakes litigation? If yes, then economic consulting might be the field for you. Cornerstone Research is a leading financial and economic consulting firm specializing in the analysis of complex financial, economic, accounting, and marketing issues that arise in the context of various kinds of litigation. Summer Analysts are integral members of the project teams formed to tackle litigation issues across a range of industries and practice areas. The experience that Summer Analysts gain at Cornerstone Research provides them with a solid foundation for successful careers in Consulting, Business, and Academia. PNC Asset Management Group (AMG) Undergraduate Intern

As a PNC Intern, you will participate in a “best-in-class” internship program. During this 10 week program, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a specific line of business, expand the tools you need to launch your career and complement your education with real-world job experience. There are two tracks to the Asset Management Group Development Program, Wealth Management/Hawthorn track, and Institutional Asset Management track. You will work with individual and corporate clients who have significant assets to develop sophisticated, customized financial solutions ranging from investment management and wealth planning to trust administration and private foundation management. We are looking for students who possess the following skillsets: strong desire to interact directly with clients, strong written and verbal communication skills, detail oriented, self-motivated, eager to learn, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. We prefer students studying Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Math, Statistics, HR, Communications, Psychology, or Computer Science. Must be a current Sophomore or junior.

 Cornerstone Research Summer Analyst

Summer analysts work in case teams that range in size but typically include a faculty expert, senior consultants, and analysts. Within a case team, the summer analyst makes important contributions during all phases of a project—from developing case strategy to conducting analy­ses, to preparing experts for testimony. Casework has both quantitative and qualitative elements, involving such key responsibilities as conducting financial and economic modeling, examining market and industry behavior, and presenting findings to colleagues and clients. This internship is available to current juniors and is not limited to specific majors, but applicants need a strong quantitative background (demonstrated either through coursework or previous work experience).

 Lean Six Sigma Demonstration

Attend this an interactive hands-on demonstration on February 6 at 12:15 pm in Quigley Auditorium to learn more about how Lean Six Sigma is used in different workplace settings to achieve performance goals! Lean Six Sigma applies the scientific method to diagnose and solve problems in a wide variety of professional settings. Students with Lean Six Sigma training on their resume have a clear advantage when applying for a job or internship. Jennifer Rothfuss ’08 will be leading the demonstration. Want to learn more?
