Peace Corps Campus Visit

Join us for this health- and environment-focused information session to learn about Volunteer experiences, ask questions about service, and gain tips to guide you through the application process.

What: Care for our world through the Peace Corps. Public health specialists are needed to address issues of global maternal and child health, nutrition and hygiene, infectious and vaccine-preventable diseases, and more. The Peace Corps needs environment specialists to address conservation concerns and alternative energy issues in communities around the globe. Help improve a community’s livelihood and develop sustainable solutions while gaining global skills for your career.

Dedicated Nursing Associates, Inc

When: Thursday, March 8 11:30 am-1:30 pm

Where: Campus Center Lobby

What: Looking to hire students for corporate and administrative positions at the corporate office in Delmont, PA (outside of Pittsburgh). All majors are welcome, especially students interested in Economics/Business, Communications, and Psychology. Positions available in areas such as Human Resources, IT, and Recruiting.

The Woodlands

What: There is still time to join The Woodlands Summer Staff! Two paid positions are offered during the summer: Counselors– perfect for aspiring, educators, therapists and trainers, nutritionists and dietitians, social workers, and counselors; and Healthcare Associates- geared towards future nurses, doctors, medical technicians, and physician assistants. Attend this presentation to learn about the available positions and how to prepare for the next Group Process Interview Session on March 20 at The Woodlands.

“Tell Me About Yourself”: Elevator Pitch Workshop

When: Tuesday, March 6, 3:30 pm- 5:00 pm

Where: Campus Center 301/302

What: One of the most common ways an interview will begin is with the statement, “Tell me about yourself” – Do you know how to answer? Everyone is invited to attend our workshop to help you craft and perfect your elevator pitch! Whether you’re an underclassman looking for internships or a graduating senior in the search for a job/grad school, everyone can benefit from having a well-crafted elevator pitch! This is especially important for those planning to attend the WestPACS Job & Internship Fair.

Pat DiFrancesco ’15 Presents a Roundtable Discussion: Leveraging Your Networks After Allegheny

When: Friday, March 9, 3:30 pm- 5:00 pm

Where: Pelletier Collaboratory (Pizza will be served)

What: Alumnus Pat will return to Allegheny to conduct a roundtable discussion talking to students about post-college challenges such as navigating the job market, managing expectations, remaining positive, being open to the different directions life can take you, and how to prepare now while you are still in college. Pat was a Political Science and Environmental Studies double major and Bonner Scholar while at Allegheny College. He is currently a State Campaigns Associate at Advanced Energy Economy in Washington, DC where he is working to develop and implement a multi-state campaign strategy to educate gubernatorial candidates about the advanced energy industry and advocate for policies and programs that will drive growth and make the energy grid more secure, clean and affordable.

Students interested in financial assistance must attend drop-in hours in Career Education on Wednesdays 2-4pm. WestPACS Job & Internship Fair

When: Wednesday, March 14, 10:00 am- 3:00 pm

Where: Monroeville Convention Center

Students and alumni from Allegheny College are invited to attend the WestPACS Job & Internship Fair, the largest fair of its kind in the Pittsburgh region! Over 150 employers attend this event and it’s the perfect way to kick-start your job or internship search! Students and alumni can pre-register online through 11:59 pm on March 12 and attend for free!

Career Education offers transportation to and from the fair for $10 round trip. Please stop by the Career Education office M-F 8:00 am- 5:00 pm to reserve your seat.
