We leave the determination of what is or isn’t fair use up to the individual faculty member. If everything in your coursepack is fair use and no royalties need to be paid, then you can fill out a Form 1A stating same, sign and return to the bookstore.
If there are any parts of your coursepack that do not meet fair use criteria, then you will need to also fill out Form 1B (and sign and return).
In either case, we must have the appropriate form(s) on file in the bookstore before the printshop will actually print your coursepack. Please be advised that if your Form 1B includes material not in the Copyright Clearance Center database it may take us several weeks to process your request.
