Civic Engagement collaborates with students and departments across campus to create a variety of service events, allowing students to explore the multiple dimensions of service.

Make a Difference Day

Join over 700 Allegheny students and 700 community members to complete over 125 projects in the local community. Projects range from raking leaves to building wheelchair ramps! Gather a group to create a team, and look for registration opportunities in the Gateway.

Second Harvest Holiday Food Drive

This day-long drive-through food drive collects tons (literally!) of food and thousands of in cash donations to benefit two local food pantries. Volunteers are needed in one or two hour shifts to collect, sort, weigh and pack donations. Call Civic Engagement at x5318 for more information.

Senior Citizen Recognition Day

Elderly residents of Meadville come to campus to take classes for the day in the spring semester. Faculty open their classes to our guests and help incorporate the elderly into the classroom experience. Students help orchestrate the day’s events and welcome seniors to campus. Contact x5318 for more information this spring.
