Important Move-in information and reminders

Dear Allegheny Students and Families,

Are you excited for Move-in? Because we are excited to see you!

Here are some important updates and reminders to help make your Move-in process as smooth as possible. We’ll also be sharing a schedule of Welcome Week activities — watch your email and the College social media for more information soon.

Reminder: MOVE-IN for fall is August 18th and 19th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

You will need to make an appointment to get your test and keys upon arrival. If you haven’t already, you must sign up for an appointment. Only students who are members of approved early arrival cohorts (specific fall sports, RAs, etc.) may sign up for the slots on the 10th and 13th; if you are not eligible for these dates, you will be removed.

What To Do When You Arrive on Campus

  • Please go to the David V. Wise Sport & Fitness Center first. There, you will meet with the staff from the Allegheny College Health Agency for testing and pick up your residence hall keys. First-year students will also be given their class shirts and IDs (as long as we’ve received a photo in advance). Please refer to the email that you will receive from the Allegheny College Health Agency (ACHA) regarding your registration for the testing process. This is a new company, so even if you are a returning student, you will need to initially set up a new account and make sure that you are connected to Allegheny College. Please do this prior to arriving on campus.
  • For the health and safety of everyone, we ask that you come into the testing area on your own and rejoin in your car anyone who accompanied you to Allegheny after you have been tested and have picked up your room key.
  • After your test is completed, you may proceed to your residence hall and move in. A Move-in map is available here with the routes to follow to the Wise Center and residence halls after testing.
  • Please plan to pick up your belongings from your storage facility (if applicable) before you come to campus.

Health and Safety Reminders

  • On all Move-in days, masks are mandatory for all campus community members and their guests while on campus, inside and outside, during Move-in activities. This includes testing at the Wise Center, picking up keys, and moving personal items in and out of residence halls. Students and families should expect to maintain the traditional 6 feet of physical distance, and two persons per student may assist with Move-in. Vaccinated and unvaccinated friends and family must remain masked at all times while inside campus buildings.
  • Students who arrive on campus without evidence of the COVID-19 vaccine (or written approval of their exemption from ACHA) will not be permitted to move in or enroll in classes. Email your vaccination card to ACHA at  healthagency@allegheny.edu.
  • Students, if you are not fully immune by your move-in date (14 days after receiving the second dose), you will need a PCR test prior to arrival and a brief quarantine at Move-in. Contact healthagency@allegheny.edu with questions.

Shuttles from the Pittsburgh Airport

The Office of Student Leadership & Involvement and ASG are sponsoring shuttle transportation from the Pittsburgh airport to campus on August 18th & 19th. To view the airport shuttle schedule and to register, click here. Reservations with non-refundable payment made by midnight on August 12 are $20. If space is available after the initial deadline, the cost is $30. Questions? Email: sli@allegheny.edu. You must have a paid reservation to board the shuttle. Walk-ons will not be permitted.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to campus for the fall semester!

Sincerely,
