“Coordinating First Responders Class”
Tamarack Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center

Tamarack Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center is a not-for-profit organization that specializes in the rescue, treatment and release of injured or orphaned wildlife. They work extensively with birds, including birds of prey. They also provide educational programs for community in order to promote the best interests of both.

Lindsay’s project’s main focus will be organizing a class to train “first responders,” people who evaluate how to help, train, or reintroduce injured wildlife. She will coordinate the class, including finding a space, recruiting participants, and developing an evaluation component.

Lindsay is from Hilton, NY. She is a senior at Allegheny College and is majoring in Biology and pursuing a double minor in Spanish and Psychology. She is intending to apply to graduate school for veterinary medicine. She has been involved in service on campus through a variety of organizations especially Alpha Phi Omega, the service fraternity on campus. She has also participated in alternative spring breaks, and the collegiate leadership conference.
