Greg King ’10

Summer 2009 Davies Leader

“Crawford County Welcome Package”
Economic Progress Alliance

“The Economic Progress Alliance focuses on promoting and enabling sustainable economic growth for Crawford County. Designated as the official Industrial Development Agency by the county government, the Alliance works closely with state, regional, county and local officials, agencies and organizations striving to promote our corner of Pennsylvania and enhance the economic health of our communities.” (https://www.economicprogressalliance.com)

As a first semester Davies Leader, Greg will take on a large project at the Economic Progress Alliance. While at this agency, Greg will work to develop a “welcome” package that presents an accurate and complete picture of the environment and character of Crawford County. He will work with Beth Rekas, Manager of Marketing, Research and Information, to compile, compare and verify the information for the package. This final product will likely feature information about local businesses, social and cultural aspects of our region and other key aspects of development in Crawford County. The Economic Progress Alliance will be able to use the information that Greg gathers to market Crawford County. The information will also be helpful in networking. The data can be shared with organizations working toward a goal common to that of the Economic Progress Alliance.

Greg is from Croton on Hudson, NY. He is a rising senior at Allegheny College and is majoring in Economics. In the Spring of 2009, Greg was part of the ITESM Study Abroad Program in Queretaro, Mexico. Greg is a member of Delta Tau Delta. He is both the Inter-fraternal Conference Representative and the Kitchen Steward for his fraternity. Greg is also part of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, has participated in Service Saturday’s through Allegheny’s Community Service Office and has been a part of the Adopt-a-School program.
