Omicron Delta Epsilon, the International Honor Society in the Field of Economics

2022 Omicron Delta Epsilon lunch celebration

Omicron Delta Epsilon (Όμικρον Δέλτα Έψιλον in Greek) is the international honor society in the field of economics. The honor society was created in 1963, as a merger between Omicron Delta Gamma and Omicron Chi Epsilon. Currently, there are approximately 700 active chapters of ODE worldwide, located in 12 countries including the United States, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Egypt, France, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Scotland, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, and West Indies.

In the United States, there are chapters of ODE in 50 states and 3 territories. ODE inducts approximately 4,000 members each year, and has more than 100,000 living lifetime members. The primary purpose of ODE is to recognize outstanding academic achievement in economics, especially at the undergraduate level. The presence of an ODE chapter is an indication to the public at large of the existence of a high quality program in Economics.

Each year we hold a special event to welcome our newest members – get the details here:
