Allegheny College, a small selective liberal arts college located in northwest Pennsylvania, invites applications for the position of Associate Dean of Students for Wellness Education. This is a full-time exempt administrative position reporting to the Dean of Students. The Dean of Students Office strives to enhance the learning environment through the integration of curricular and co-curricular learning experiences that facilitate students’ general well-being.
The Associate Dean will work with students, faculty and staff to cultivate a healthy learning community at Allegheny College. The Associate Dean will supervise the Counseling and Personal Development Center, the Health Center and the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life, while providing institutional leadership and planning on all matters related to health and wellness. In addition, the Associate Dean will develop outreach and educational programs for the student community, and identify student needs in an effort to provide optimal service.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires an advanced degree in Higher Education or Counseling or a closely related field. A minimum of a Master’s degree is required. At least five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education is required with at least 2-3 years’ experience in administration. Significant experience working in Student Affairs or College Counseling is highly desired, as is prior work with wellness and other educational programs and workshops for college students to enhance their overall wellness and wellbeing. A proven track record of work with diverse populations is also desired.
