ROLE TITLE:  Building Coordinator

POSITION REPORTS TO:  Associate Provost

Summary of Position

The Building Coordinator provides administrative support for their assigned academic departments and programs.  Administrative supports includes assisting department and program chairs with maintaining records, scheduling events, and routine office functions.  The Building Coordinator is the point of contact for room scheduling and is the academic building liaison with Physical Plant, Housekeeping, and IT to report maintenance, cleaning, and technology needs, respectively.

As the Building Coordinator, you will:

  • Manage building spaces. Manage the scheduling and accessibility of rooms and spaces.  Maintain building signage.  Serve as point of contact for building upkeep; including, but not limited to: weekly walkthrough of building to identify and notify needs to appropriate parties (Housekeeping, Physical Plant, ITS).
  • Serve as point of contact for department and program needs. This includes: responding to all communications or queries (phone, email, and in person), maintain files, monitor and purchase office supplies, maintain web presence.
  • Assist academic department chairs with maintaining financial records. This includes: payment requests, travel forms, expense forms, purchases, and monitoring expenditures and budgets.
  • Schedule department and program meetings or events, such as rehearsals, senior project orals, and course evaluations.
  • Special events. Coordinate special lecture/visitor events and department-sponsored excursions.  This may include: setting itineraries, communicating with travelers or attendees, assisting with travel logistics (transport, lodging, meals).
  • Faculty searches. Provide support for faculty searches, including, but not limited to: file management and visit logistics.  Assist the chair with new faculty onboarding.

Experience and Qualifications

  • High School diploma required
  • 1-3 years of relative experience to the position
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Experience with office administration (word processing, filing, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated and extensive problem-solving and decision-making skills

YOUR COMPENSATION

New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.

This is a non-exempt position and the starting range rate for this position is $15.00 per hour.
