Manager of Athletic Operations

Allegheny College is currently accepting applications for the position of Manager of Athletic Operations. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt administrative position with a comprehensive benefits package. Allegheny, located in northwest Pennsylvania, is a four year, selective liberal arts college serving students with unusual interests, skills and talents.

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required with a Masters preferred plus experience with high profile leadership working in a diverse, campus community environment is ideal. Higher education and/or athletic administration experience is highly preferred. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Manage all aspects of transportation including developing department policy and procedures related to all transportation; manage and track binding contracts for 23 varsity athletic programs; manage master calendar and reservations for athletic facilities for contests and special events; manage and maintain department documents, Athletic Director’s calendar, department staff searches, presentations, staff orientation, and other special projects/tasks as assigned; serve as liaison to various campus constituents; lead special events; and provide administrative and special project support to the department.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, comfortable and competent in quantitative work, possess strong computing skills, and possess the ability to learn new software. The candidate must also have excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills to work with a variety of personalities and be able to work independently. The ability to multitask and meet deadlines as well as work in a dynamic environment prone to interruptions is essential. The successful candidate must also have the ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data and handle confidential material. A working knowledge of the NCAA and Division III is beneficial.
