Allegheny College, a small selective national liberal arts college, invites applications for the position of Marketing Content Specialist. The position is a full-time exempt position reporting to the Director of Editorial Services in the Office of College Relations, which is responsible for creating and delivering marketing communications to advance the College’s priorities and build brand awareness.
The Marketing Content Specialist has responsibility for planning, producing, and sharing compelling content for Allegheny College’s marketing channels. This position demands creativity and expertise in developing written and multimedia content that resonates with key audiences and captures the vibrancy of academic and campus life at Allegheny. The Marketing Content Specialist plays a key role in managing Allegheny’s institutional-level social media channels, assisting in the development of a comprehensive social media plan, creating and scheduling posts, responding to questions and comments, and supporting the College’s image. In addition, the Marketing Content Specialist provides editorial support for websites, print publications, and other outlets.
Qualifications for this position include:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- At least three years of professional experience in marketing/communications or a closely related field
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- The ability to conduct interviews, complete research, and produce compelling written content under tight deadlines, including same-day coverage of institutional events.
- Experience contributing to an organization’s social media channels, including initiatives designed to build engagement among audiences
- Experience capturing and sharing photography and video
