Registrar and Associate Dean of Records

Allegheny College seeks an experienced leader as Registrar and Associate Dean of Records who will be responsible for the operations of the Office of the Registrar and maintaining accuracy and integrity of student academic records as well as recommending and upholding academic policies of the College.  The Office of the Registrar is a service-oriented and collaborative team that works with constituencies across the College including students, faculty, staff, and alumni.  The Registrar and Associate Dean reports to the Provost and Dean of the College and serves as part of the Provost leadership team.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include managing the daily operations of the Registrar’s Office and the staff, providing direction and oversight of new and continuing student registration, course and classroom scheduling, transfer credit evaluation, grade processing and reporting, enrollment and degree verification, transcript production and verification, and compliance with state and federal academic regulations (including FERPA).  The Registrar and Associate Dean advises the Provost and Associate Provost on enrollment trends, projected course needs, course schedules, registration, and curricular initiatives.  

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum of five years’ experience working as an Associate Registrar or Registrar in an institution with a liberal arts curriculum.  Experience as Registrar preferred but not required.  Bachelor’s degree is required.  Also required are a commitment to student learning and success, integrity and confidentiality, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work with and report quantitative and qualitative information, ability to learn new systems, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience in leadership, creative problem-solving, collaboration, and project management are strongly preferred along with experience in Ellucian Colleague and Entrinsik Informer.
