ROLE TITLE: Director of Employer & Corporate Relations

Summary of Position
The Director of Employer & Corporate Relations is responsible for developing and managing strategic employer relationships that provide high-quality internships, full-time job opportunities, and mentorship experiences for Allegheny College students and alumni. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD), the Director of Employer & Corporate Relations will lead a comprehensive employer engagement strategy that fosters purposeful partnerships aligned with a liberal arts education. As Director of Employer & Corporate Relations, you will:
Employer Engagement & Relationship Management
- Develop and implement a strategic employer engagement plan that expands internship, job, and experiential learning opportunities for students and alumni.
- Cultivate, nurture, and sustain relationships with regional employers to strengthen recruitment pipelines. Primary markets include Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo, Erie, Washington, D.C., and NYC.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employers, ensuring a seamless recruiting experience by providing guidance on Handshake, internship policies, and best practices in recruitment.
- Represent Allegheny College in professional networks, including Chamber of Commerce events and industry-related gatherings, to promote employer engagement.
- Advise employers on recruitment strategies, branding, and outreach efforts to enhance awareness of their opportunities among students and alumni.
- Provide oversight coordination in the monitoring, reviewing, and approving of job postings, ensuring alignment with college policies and employer recruitment best practices.
- Stay informed about industry hiring trends and workforce needs, proactively identifying new employment opportunities and on-campus engagement initiatives.
Alumni Engagement & Employer Partnerships
- Collaborate with Institutional Advancement to engage alumni as mentors, employers, and networking contacts.
- Foster employer partnerships that leverage alumni connections to enhance job and internship opportunities.
Program Assessment & Data Management
- Utilize assessment tools and data analytics to track employer engagement efforts, student employment outcomes, and career trends.
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting on internship placements, employment trends, and program impact.
Event Coordination & Employer Programming
- Partner with CCPD colleagues to organize career fairs, networking events, and employer-hosted engagement opportunities.
- Develop and facilitate employer-led programming, including industry panels, recruitment events, and skill-building workshops.

Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and or Master’s Degree preferred
- 1 – 3 years experience required, 4 – 7 years experience preferred
- Familiarity with career services platforms such as Handshake and an understanding of best practices in recruiting and talent development.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills with a proven ability to engage external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, assess program impact, and contribute to strategic planning efforts.
- Proficiency in Google Suite of Products; knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), Databases
- This role requires extensive regional travel and frequent travel within the US to meet with employers and attend professional networking events.
- This position offers flexibility for remote work, with the expectation of periodic in-person engagement on campus and at employer-related events. The Director will be required to attend on-campus meetings, student-facing programs, and regional employer visits as needed. Some evening and weekend commitments may be necessary for events and employer engagement activities.

YOUR COMPENSATION
New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
The expected minimum starting salary point for this position is $70,000 annually.
