Meet the Writing Consultants

Allegheny’s writing consultants are a diverse, multidisciplinary group of undergraduates with rich interests and a shared passion for working with other writers. We look forward to getting to know you and your writing in the Learning Commons.

Fall 2020 Lead Consultants:

Lead Consultants serve as assistants to the Director of Writing and as leaders among the writing consultants. They run workshops, schedule and manage matches, and facilitate the professional development of their peers in a variety of capacities.

Hannah Glaser is a junior majoring in Communication Arts with a double minor in Political Science and Writing. She is from Olmsted Township, a town in Ohio outside of Cleveland. In her free time, Hannah enjoys watching the same movies and TV shows on Netflix over and over again, as well as reading and writing. After graduating, Hannah hopes to pursue a career in the creative field, either in film or writing.



Douglas (“Charlie”) Pitt is a senior majoring in English—with an emphasis in Creative Writing—and minoring in Psychology. He is from Hilo, Hawaii. He spends his free time reading fantasy, playing D&D, and writing. His favorite fantasy authors are Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, and Scott Lynch. Charlie leads the New Consultant Training.



Fall 2020 Writing Consultants


Emily Yasinsky is a senior majoring in Communication Arts with a minor in Journalism for the Public Interest. She is originally from Butler, Pennsylvania, but hopes to one day live in San Francisco or New York City. She loves theater, writing, drinking tea, and binge watching crime dramas.






Sarah Halprin is a senior majoring in English with minors in Spanish and Medieval and Renaissance studies. She is a proud native Texan and dreams of someday opening a bakery. In her free time, she listens to music, goes hiking, and drinks too much tea. Sarah is also the world’s biggest Harry Potter fan.





Pearl Cooper is a senior English and Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies major. She is from Corning, NY and runs cross country and track for Allegheny College. In her spare time, she likes to read, write, watch Netflix, and spend time with her friends, family, and cats.




Sarah Teel is a senior majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in English. She am from Waterloo, New York. Besides spontaneously breaking into song, she likes to play her flute and saxophone, go hiking, bake, blacksmith, draw, travel, and garden. She loves Victorian novels and realistic fiction, though she also has a deep love for Harry Potter and a few other fantasy series.



Lauren Isaacs is a junior from a town just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She is an English major with a Chemistry minor. On campus, she is involved in UNICEF, Overkill Literary Magazine, Hillel, and the swimming and diving team.  In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, writing, photography, scrapbooking, and hiking.
