During the fall semester, the Office of the Provost will host two four-week sessions open to faculty, staff, and administrators to discuss Derald Sue’s insightful book “Race Talk and the Conspiracy of Silence: Understanding and Facilitating Difficult Dialogues on Race.” Participants will receive a copy of the book. Each opportunity is limited to 12 participants. The first session will be four meetings on Thursday mornings, September 14, 21, 28 and October 5. Breakfast in the Gillespie Room of Brooks Hall will be available at 7:45 a.m. with discussion from 8 until 8:50. If you would like to join this group, then please RSVP here by September 7. The second opportunity will be four meetings on Wednesday afternoons, October 18, 25 and November 1, 8 from 4 to 5 p.m. Refreshments will be available. A call for participants for this session will be sent in late September. Facilitated by Professor Emeritus Bill Bywater.
