Employees are reminded to please complete this form for receiving notifications from the Playshop Theatre; we have reached about 45% of employees and would really like more responses. As the Box Office Manager for the Playshop Theatre, I am reaching out to ask for your participation in a sustainability initiative to cut costs and save paper.
You currently receive a paper postcard at your home address for each one of our performances. You also see the posters across campus and announcements on My Allegheny. As a department, we recently have made many changes to our marketing so that it is a more modern online/social media approach. Due to our new marketing goals, the price of paper, and the importance of being more environmentally conscious, we hope that you will consider switching to our electronic mailing list.
If all employees opted to receive Playshop production advertisements by email rather than by paper mail, we’d be able to give more support to department programs and annually mitigate the use of 42 pounds of paper and associated greenhouse gas emissions (equivalent to driving 142 miles in a passenger vehicle). Reducing our printed and delivered advertisements is a small but tangible way to support Allegheny’s core value of sustainability and our goal to achieve institutional climate neutrality by 2020.
