E=MC² is an opportunity for students who want to do service or who like children and/or science. The group always needs more volunteers. The details are as follows: E=MC² is an interactive and hands-on science camp for 2nd through 4th graders that aims to expose students to science before it is taught in the Meadville school system. We meet Sundays for roughly seven weeks starting February 4 through April 15. We ask that volunteers arrive in Carr Hall at 12:15 p.m. to help set up; students arrive at 1 p.m. and leave at 3:30. We generally have about 30-plus children and need as many volunteers as possible. It is a fun way to interact with youngsters, get experience teaching, and acquire service hours. Volunteers will help supervise and guide the pupils while the leaders teach. Volunteers are not required to teach but if you’re interested in gaining experience please reach out. Science experience is not required, and you do not have to volunteer every weekend. We will have a very short informational meeting on Sunday, January 28, at 12:15 p.m. in Carr 238 that you should attend if interested. Contact Bailey Pifer at piferb@allegheny.edu or Leah Franzluebbers at franzluebbersl@allegheny.edu if interested.
