Robert Frederick Smith Internship and Fellowship Program

As part of the Smith Fund Internship and Fellowship Program, the museum will select and provide funding for interns who will be located on site with the museum and off site at select African American museums, art galleries and museums of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, cultural institutions and historic sites, or other related institutions dedicated to the study and preservation of African American history and culture. All internship opportunities with this program will focus on work related to digital imaging, media preservation, digital preservation of personal and community objects, digital content management, collections information management, recording and preserving oral histories, or digital filmmaking. Opportunities are available in Washington, D.C., Alabama, North Carolina, Florida, and Pennsylvania. All summer internships are for 12 weeks, 35 to 40 hours per week and include a $600 per week stipend and need-based housing and transportation subsidy. Applications are due March 15.
