Women’s “Power Hour” Fitness Class

This is an hour-long fitness class geared toward developing and maintaining powerful women through physical fitness. The class will include instruction in jumping, landing, sprinting, and change of direction. Each of these components will be supplemented with strengthening exercises primarily for the core and lower body designed to improve technique and reduce the risk of injuries like ACL tears (females are more likely to suffer a non-contact ACL injury than males). In addition to the injury prevention components, each class will include an optional conditioning program that can be done in addition to the class or as a separate workout at another time. Class times will be Tuesdays and Fridays at 6:45 to 7:50 a.m. starting Tuesday, January 30, and ending Thursday, March 22, at the Wise Center Indoor Track. (You will have the option to depart early for 8 a.m. classes when necessary).
