Students for URSCA (SURSCA) Opening

This post has been archived. Information below may be out of date and/or relate to a past event.

Are you passionate about research? Have you completed a research experience either on or off campus ? The URSCA office is looking to fill a position on our student committee, SURSCA (Students for Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities). We have an opening for the position of Social Sciences Representative. An ideal Social Sciences Representative would be someone who has experience in any of the social sciences at Allegheny (Economics, Environmental Science, History, Political Science, or Psychology) and/or an interdisciplinary field. As a SURSCA representative, you would serve as a mentor for other students interested in research (e.g., through office hour, attending campus events, etc.), help with the coordination of URSCA events (e.g., Gator Day, Scholars Symposium, etc.), and provide feedback for how to create and support URSCA experiences for Allegheny students. You would also assist in outreach to the departments within the social sciences. As the SURSCA committee was only installed last year, we’re still developing, so keep in mind (and keep an open mind) that you will be helping us shape what these positions entail.
If you are interested in applying, send an email to the URSCA Student Coordinator, Stella Goodworth, at and the application will be forwarded to you. Feel free to contact the Director of URSCA, Professor Aimee Knupsky, with any questions you may have at
