Are you a faculty member interested in mentoring community-based student research? Would you be willing to give it a try? The Network for Local Knowledge & Research (NLKR) program is preparing its summer 2018 opportunities for student-faculty partnerships with local, Meadville-area organizations. This Fahrner-funded program provides a stipend for faculty who mentor summer students working on research projects requested by community partners. Faculty and students selected for the program benefit from all summer URSCA programming including the ACRoSS lunch series and the Reach ACRoSS professional development workshops. Additional support for faculty and students in the NLKR program will be provided (e.g., what to expect meetings for faculty and students). The Civic Engagement and URSCA offices of the Gateway invite you to find out more about the NLKR program and about the projects that have been selected for this summer at a lunch meeting for interested faculty on Thursday, February 22, at 12:15 p.m. in the Collaboratory. Please RSVP using this link. If you have questions, please direct them to Becky Dawson at rdawson@allegheny.edu.
