Attention, Allegheny seniors: The Lake Effect Leaders AmeriCorps VISTA project is hiring for 20-plus positions for the 2018-2019 service year. Positions will begin July 23 for members serving in Erie and Crawford County. The mission of Lake Effect Leaders, as a regional partnership of Allegheny College, Gannon University and Mercyhurst University, is to build the capacity of government agencies, nonprofit organizations and schools to collaboratively address issues related to poverty in Erie and Meadville. Members make a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project and receive a biweekly living allowance, healthcare allowance, professional development training, and an education award among other benefits.
