All educators are invited to a lunch session to learn more about innovative, community-engaged undergraduate teaching using oral history and digital storytelling. Emily Chivers Yochim, Associate Professor of Communication Arts and Theatre, who serves as Communication and Pedagogy Director of OHLA (Oral History in the Liberal Arts), will lead a presentation on how to cultivate a deeply collaborative undergraduate classroom environment where students work together on digital storytelling projects. We’ll discuss upending student expectations of an individualistic learning experience, developing a syllabus that nurtures collaboration, and lesson planning for student-led partnerships.
