The Bonner Leader Program is looking for current students interested or experienced in community-based work. Bonner Leaders are placed with a local nonprofit organization for a two-year commitment. Bonner Leaders work to recruit volunteers, develop programs for their site, and provide much-needed support for the agency. Itβs a great opportunity to have a service-oriented internship that provides students with practical, real-life experience. Bonner Leaders receive financial compensation through work-study funds for a commitment of 8β10 hours a week.Bonner Leaders serve up to 900 hours in the course of two years and have the opportunity to:
- Serve at least two academic years and one summer of service (the first summer commitment is in Meadville with the opportunity for a second elsewhere). Summer hours include 7β8 weeks of 35 hours per week at a local or away nonprofit.
- Participate in regular meetings and leadership training β three times a month.
- Participate in a fall overnight retreat and a one-day spring training.
