The FAFSA will be live Tuesday, October 1, 2019 for the 2020-2021 academic year. If you would like to be considered for federal and need-based aid, please click here to file your FAFSA. Important points to know:
1) Students and parents (as appropriate) will use their 2018 income information to file the 2020-2021 FAFSA. Remember, the Department of Education is asking families to use Prior-Prior Year (PPY) income information. PPY income information makes the FAFSA easier to use since your 2018 taxes have already been completed and the Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) will be immediately available to use. PPY income also ensures accurate information is being added to the FAFSA since families no longer have to estimate income due to incomplete tax information.
2) To receive maximum financial aid eligibility, please file your 2020-2021 FAFSA by Allegheny College’s priority deadline of February 15, 2020.
3) Be sure you and your parents (as appropriate) have your FSA identification ready when filing the FAFSA. If you are not sure if you have an FSA ID or if it has expired, please click here to confirm your FSA ID.
