Senator Art Haywood will be on campus on Friday, November 8, for a lunch talk on how citizens can best influence the decisions of legislators, including the do’s and don’ts for success. Location is Tillotson Room in the Tippie Alumni Center from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Senator Haywood was one of four legislators to recently receive the 2019 Allegheny College Prize for Civility in Public Life in Pennsylvania, which honored their efforts to build bipartisan consensus on reforms to the state’s criminal justice system. He serves the 4th Senatorial District, and he is Democratic chair of the Health and Human Services Committee, sits on the Appropriations, Finance, Intergovernmental Operations, and Judiciary Committees, and is co-chair of the Senate Criminal Justice Reform Caucus.
