February 9-10: Tu B’Shvat is the Jewish celebration of trees. Hillel will observe the holiday with a Tu B-Shvat Seder on Friday, February 7.
February 15: Nirvana Day is when Buddhists mark the death of Buddha’s physical body, when he achieved full Nirvana.
February 22: Maha Shrivrati is the Hindu festival honoring the god Shiva.
February 25: Shrove Tuesday is Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, the day before the Christian season of Lent begins. SRL hosts a Pancake Supper in Schultz Banquet on that evening from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is free, and families are welcome to attend.
February 26: Ash Wednesday begins the Lenten season, when Christians prepare for Easter. The Catholic and Protestant communities on campus hold a service together at 4:30 p.m. in Ford Chapel.
