• Give yourself extra time
• All windows are cleared
• Break off ice on wiper blades.
• Remove snow/ice from the vehicle
• Drive slowly and use headlights.
• Gear down avoid quick and jerky movements while steering
• Brake gently and allow plenty of time
• If your vehicle does skid, do not brake!
• Take your foot off the accelerator and turn your steering wheel in the direction that you want the front wheels to go.
If You Get Stuck
• Do not spin your wheels; this will only dig you in deeper.
• Turn your wheels from side to side a few times to push snow out of the way.
• Use a light touch on the gas pedal to ease your vehicle out.
• Use sand, kitty litter, gravel, or salt for traction.
