Posted on March 5, 2020 | Filed under General News

With generous grant funding, the Allegheny College Gateway is able to offer training this summer (2020) for community members and college educators to partner on developing skills and knowledge for college-community collaborative projects for the betterment of our community. The training will include a dinner and early evening introduction on Wednesday, May 20, followed by a full-day workshop on Thursday, May 21. It is being designed by a 12-member working group comprised of community partners, Allegheny faculty, staff and students.

Who should register? Community members and educators who have facilitated community-based projects in the past as well as those who are interested in doing so in the future. Break-out sessions and workshops will be tailored towards participants’ interests and level of experience. There is no cost to participate in this training. Community agency representatives and faculty will receive a small stipend for their involvement. Meals will be provided. A continuing college-community collaborative project training will occur in August to support further development.

If you are interested in participating, please register here. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact David Roncolato ( or Terry Bensel (
