April 5: Palm Sunday is the Christian observance of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. To receive daily emails during Holy Week with scripture readings about Jesus’ activities that day, please sign up using this form. A list of online services and gatherings for Holy Week is on the SRL website.

April 8-16: Passover is the Jewish week-long observance of the Exodus from Egypt. Jewish faculty and staff can follow Hillel’s plans on social media: Instagram (@AllleghenyHillel), Twitter (@AlleghenyHillel), and/or Facebook (Allegheny Hillel).

April 9: Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday, is the Christian observance of Jesus’ Passover meal with disciples, in which the sacrament of the Last Supper was instituted.

April 10: Good Friday is the Christian observance of Jesus’ death and burial. A list of online versions of the Stations of the Cross is available on the blog ChurchNext.

April 12: Easter is the Christian celebration of Christ’s resurrection from the dead. Online Easter services are listed on the SRL website.

April 17: Holy Friday in Eastern Orthodox traditions.

April 19: Easter in the Eastern Orthodox Church.

April 20-21: Yom Hashoah is the Jewish day of Holocaust remembrance.

April 21-May 2: Festival of Ridvan is the Baha’i commemoration of Baha’u’llah’s proclamation.

April 23-May 23: Ramadan is the Islamic month of fasting. Muslim faculty or staff can contact Director of Muslim Life Sami Alkyam for information about any virtual gatherings.
