Allegheny’s Jewish Studies Program and the International Education office in the Allegheny Gateway invite you to participate in CISAbroad’s webinar, “Never a Bystander: applications for today from Holocaust survivor, Irene Butter” on Tuesday, August 4, at 2 p.m. (ET). It will include a 30-minute Google Talk by Dr. Butter about her story of survival through Hitler’s Germany and the concentration camp, Bergen-Belsen. Dr. Butter is a well-known peace activist, Holocaust survivor, and professor emerita of public health at the University of Michigan. At 89 years old, she is one of the last Holocaust survivors still speaking and acting up; she is politically and socially active, and her message of “Never a Bystander” has special importance today. She will join for the viewing of the talk, and answer questions/talk about what her story means for today. To receive the webinar link, click here.
