The Director of Faculty Development invites faculty members to participate in a Teaching Circle during Module 2 of this semester. Teaching Circles are designed to provide support to faculty in their teaching and professional lives. Ten faculty will meet each Wednesday from 12:20 to 1:15 pm throughout the module; participants will commit to attend each meeting. We won’t be able to provide lunch for virtual meetings, but we invite everyone to eat together during the meeting time. There is no agenda; the participants simply come to discuss whatever issues are most pressing in their professional lives. Participants will agree to keep discussions in the group confidential. Participant responses to past teaching circles indicate that faculty have found this experience highly valuable and sustaining. This Teaching Circle will be facilitated by Jennifer Hellwarth from the English Department. If you are interested in participating in this group, please fill out this short form by 10 a.m. on February 10. We will accept members into the group on a first-come, first-served basis, though we may manage the membership to assure that there are both tenured and untenured faculty in the group. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Hellwarth (jhellwar@allegheny.edu) or Catharina Coenen (ccoenen@allegheny.edu).
