From now until November 8, Allegheny students are encouraged to implement energy-saving practices in their dorm rooms and around campus. Turn off lights every time you leave a room, shut down your computer when you’re not using it, unplug all chargers when not in use, study (or relax) in shared spaces to share electricity use, and encourage others to do the same! Previous challenges have seen more than a 10% reduction in campus-wide electricity use. Energy Challenge savings are reinvested in other campus sustainability features–this year’s savings will be used to help implement green boxes in McKinley’s.
