Are you someone who is interested in learning about how and why people learn statistics? Then you should consider joining the Statistical Cognition Lab here at Allegheny College! In this lab students work with Professor Chris Normile (Psychology) to research people’s learning and understanding of statistics. This includes researching how statistics is taught differently across disciplines, what statistical software aids the most in student learning, and how trends in statistical pedagogy have changed over time.

Anyone with an interest in statistics, psychology, or education is encouraged to reach out! This opportunity is open to all students regardless of major, and you are eligible to receive 1-2 credits of PSYCH 590 (Independent Study) as a member of the lab.

If you are interested in joining the lab or want to learn more, please contact Professor Chris Normile at cnormile@allegheny.edu!
