Beginning Monday, May 23, and continuing through Friday, May 27, O’Connell Electric Company will be on campus completing the Deenergized Maintenance Project on our electric transformers as required by the testing and maintenance mandate from the NFPA codes 70, 70E, and 70B.

On Monday, May 23, the campus will experience rolling power outages to ensure proper identification of circuits and corresponding switches. Approximate campus-wide outage time is expected to range from one hour to four hours.

Once identification and verification of the switches and circuits occurs, Physical Plant will send a schedule out campus-wide of the projected outages that will occur for the remainder of the day and week.

What you can expect throughout the week:

  • Isolated power outages ranging from four to nine hours in length daily
  • Possible network interruptions

Physical Plant has coordinated with Conference and Event Services to block off reservations of spaces within all buildings, as spaces may not be usable without power. The dates of this project have been coordinated to have the least disruption for the campus community. Any questions can be directed to Physical Plant at extension 5378.
