1. Arabic is spoken by over 422 million people and is the 5th most spoken language in the world!
2. There is a high demand for Arabic speakers and low supply. Only 1% of American college students study Arabic, making those with any experience with the language stand out in the job market in many fields!
3. In 2019, the GDP of the Arab world was over $2.5 trillion and it is important for geopolitical reasons, which opens up many opportunities for work in the region.
4. According to the Pew Research Center in 2016, Arabic is the “Fastest Growing” Language in the U.S. This means that there is an increasing need for speakers of the language in all different fields within the United States.
There are no prerequisites and students of any year can register. If these reasons are not enough, Arabic is a beautiful language to read and write!
