Allegheny students, Allegheny employees/faculty and members of the Meadville community, are invited to join in Courageous Conversations About Race to take place during Allegheny’s Fall Semester on Mondays from 4:10 to 5:20 beginning on Monday, September 5th. George Yancy’s book “Backlash” will prime our conversations about the impact of racism on our lives and communities and he will also join us for conversation. Discussion is organized by Bill Bywater, emeritus professor of philosophy. Employees, faculty and Meadville community members who would like to join in conversation with students and peers please contact Bill Bywater (bbywater@allegheny.edu). Students can earn 2 credits by signing into ComJ 591. This programming is developed in collaboration with visits of George Yancy, Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Philosophy, to Allegheny’s campus. For more on Yancy’s visit, see https://tinyurl.com/yancyallegheny2022.
